Eulan SPA

Agent against moth and beetle feeding. EULAN SPA (non-ionic) has a high efficacy against moths (Tineola / Tinea), carpet beetles (Anthrenus), fur beetles (Attagenus) and seed moths (Hofmannophila sp.).

Finishing of skins and bird skins with EULAN SPA:

Estimation of the amount of keratin by adding the rawhide weight with consideration of the fat content and the water content. Examples: The amount of keratin in a fox (winter coat) is about 25% (about 150 g keratin), in a marten (summer coat) about 7% (about 11 g keratin). Rawhide weight = 100%.
Calculate the amount used: 0.8 is 1.6 er keratin amount = amount used of Eulan SPA (1 drop = 0.02 g).
Prepare liquor:
- 40°C, ratio coat weight / water = 1:40 to 1:80
- Salt: max. 10 g / litre liquor
- Add acetic acid, pH 4.0 to max. pH 4.2
Put pelts resp. bellows into the liquor, move continuously.
After approx. 20 min. remove pelts resp. bellows from the liquor and add Eulan SPA (calculation see above). Wear protective gloves for all work in the liquor.
Put the skins or bellows into the liquor and move them continuously and intensively. Maintain temperature and correct pH-value if necessary.
After 60 min. remove objects from the liquor and rinse briefly. Do not rinse with acetone or alcohol.

Finishing horny tubes, claws, claws and beaks with EULAN SPA:

Place objects in as small a tub as possible and pour lukewarm water over them until they are completely covered.
The addition of SUPRALAN UF (approx. 0.5 - 1 g / litre of liquor) promotes the penetration of EULAN SPA into the object surface.
Bring liquor to pH 4.0 with acetic acid.
Add 1 drop of EULAN SPA per horn, claw etc. to liquor. This dosage is sufficient up to horns of chamois, stone goats and domestic goats. With strongly structured horns (African big antelopes, ibex etc.) the dosage must be increased to 2 drops per horn.
If the pH-value falls under 3.5, one raises it under addition of little ammonia (=Salmiakgeist) again to 4.0.
Leave to act for approx. 30 min. and move objects well from time to time (wear protective gloves!).

For legal reasons it is currently no longer possible to sell and use the product. There is no approval for the field of application of taxidermy.
