Sealing compound for sealing wet preparation jars with plane ground lids.
This permanently elastic compound has a consistency of sticky plasticine and is very easy to process. In the field of sealing of wet preparations we have experience since 1994 and the preparations have proved to be tight until now. Basically, we recommend the use of
Beeswax-colophony mixture, but there are situations where the use of Terostat-IX is justified. This is especially true for difficult formats (e.g., very long glasses with a small width) or for glasses with uneven or not quite flat edges.
Processing:You form a thin strand and press it onto the edge of the glass. On this strand you put the lid heated to about 130 - 160°C. The expanding air should be given enough time to escape. Then the lid is pressed on so that the Terostat-IX is evenly distributed. Any material that swells out can be removed with a scalpel.
The delivery unit of 200g is sufficient to seal 30 to 60 jars.
Note:Terostat-IX comes from the car - and caravan industry and can be used anywhere where a flexible and permanently elastic seal is desired.
