2-component polyurethane foam.
These foam types are ideal for foaming PU forms. The cured PU foams can be carved or machined with woodworking tools or machines. These foam types also provide support for wood screws without any problems. When modifying PU forms (turning the neck, etc.), any gaps that occur can be filled with foam (we recommend 1-comp. PU adhesive if the cut surfaces are in direct contact). Further use of these products is in platform and diorama construction, in the manufacture of accurately fitting support forms for fossils or for filling cavities.
The moulding of commercial forms (e.g. Hauser manikins, Bauer manikins etc.) is prohibited!
Processing instructions:- Good homogenisation before removal from the delivery container
- Processing temperature 20 - 25°C
- Keep mixing ratio exactly: A : B = 1 : 1.2 (e.g. 100 g : 120 g)
- Mix both components intensively (e.g. stirrer on drill, min. 1500 rpm)
Time for mixing: approx. 55 sec.
Setting time: approx. 165 sec.
Foam weight (free foamed):
Medium density. Results freely foamed approx. 85 Kg / m3 (expansion approx. 12-fold)
High density. Results in free foamed approx. 150 Kg / m3 (expansion approx. 6.5-fold)
Foaming agent: CO2
For medium density foam (type Purotherm 460 BS RG 75) and high density foam (type Purotherm 460 RG 125), the B component is the same product (Desmodur 44V20LF).
