Bald Eagle
Haliaeetus leucocephalus
Bald Eagle Set
The bald eagle, one of the largest birds found in North America, is distributed throughout the continent but found predominantly in the northwest (Alaska and British Columbia). Eagles possess four talons on each foot, the one at the back of the foot being the longest and, incidentally, longer in the female than male. Once an endangered species, they were removed from the federal list in 2007. We gratefully acknowledge and thank the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Vertebrate Zoology section for lending us these fine specimens from their extensive collection.
Oval display base is available on demand.
