Platypus skeleton, disarticulated
Ornithorhynchus anatinus
Duck-Billed Platypus Skeleton, Disarticulated
Native to eastern Australia and Tasmania, the platypus is very primitive, almost reptilian like. It shares several characteristics with reptiles: eggs that hatch outside the mother, the structure of the eye and the pectoral girdle, and the presence of a cloaca. Mammalian traits include fur, a four-chambered heart, single bone in jaws, and nursing capacity. Adult males are equipped with a venom delivering spur found on its hind legs. Custom mounting available for all skeletons. Individual bones or sections are also available. Please inquire.
No assembly instructions or hardware are included with this product.
