Before sewing, the thread should always be pulled through dressmaker's wax (beeswax). Thus he knots less and glides better through the stitches.

Seam technique:
Distinguished are basically two seam techniques. In the "simple seam" a "Nädlig" is used. It is stitched alternately into one or the other edge of the skin, in each case from the leather side to the hair side. This seam is coarser and easily visible. With tight and even stitches a good finish is still possible. With the "double seam" two "needles" are used. The stitching is done crosswise, whereby two stitches are always made with the same needle because of the faster working method. This method of working enables a particularly accurate seam closure without distortion. The seam is extremely stable and can hardly be pulled open. There is no bulge, the seam is almost invisible. This technique is particularly suitable for short-haired animals. It is especially used for larger animals in dermoplasty, where a stronger pull of the skin during drying is to be expected.
