Retouching

FINI-PLAST is a high-quality retouching wax that gives your taxidermy mount even more life. FINI-PLAST has very good adhesive properties and is pleasant to work with. With the six colours, any desired shade between flesh-coloured and black-brown can be achieved without any problems. FINI-PLAST is non-toxic and ready to use in the delivery form.

Processing:
The substrate must be dry and dust-free. For light spots (e.g. flesh-colored), the substrate must be primed white. This is done either by applying white FINI-PLAST or by coloring with white acrylic paint beforehand. Only through the light undercoating can the effect of plastic depth, which is only feasible with wax, be achieved.
A small spatula is slightly heated over a spirit flame (candles are unsuitable because of soot formation). A small amount of FINI-PLAST is taken with the warm spatula and formed into a small lump. Sticking to the tip of the spatula, the wax is again slightly warmed over the flame. Apply FINI-PLAST to the desired area and model accordingly. Depending on the thickness of the application, the colour tone is changed. Thus, smooth color transitions can be achieved quickly and easily.
Any contamination on glass eyes and tools are removed with stain naphtha.
