Human Fetal 9 Months Set of 8 Postcranial
The body contains 12 pairs of ribs, all of which are crescent-shaped. At birth, ribs are similar in shape to adult ribs, but they differ in vertical angulation. At the fetal and neonatal stages the ribs are fairly horizontal. By adulthood, they are higher at the vertebral end than at the sternal end. In addition to a rib, this set also includes a right and left mandible, scapula, humerus, ilium, femur and tibia. Cast from real bones, these 8 postcranial skeletal elements are excellent representations of human osteology at this stage of late fetal/early neonatal development.
