Weighing around 3000 pounds, the name "white rhino" is actually a misnomer, an incorrect translation of a word that actually means "wide". There are only 5 species of rhinoceros left in the world and all are highly endangered. They range in Africa, Sumatra, India and Java. The white rhino is from Africa. Rhinos are an ancient species dating back some 50 million years ago. 2-part skull (separate cranium & jaw).
