Great Horned Owl
Bubo virginianus
Great Horned Owl Talon
This talon is the perfect companion to our great horned owl skull, BC-072. The great horned owl is found throughout North, Central and South America. It is the largest of the owls, measuring about 2 feet long, and has tufts above its ears that resemble horns (hence the name). It is known for its ability to swivel its head a full 180 degrees. We gratefully acknowledge and thank the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Vertebrate Zoology section, for lending us this fine specimen from their extensive collection. A portion of the sales goes to them to continue their research.
Each Bone Clones® replica claw and talon, produced to our exacting standards, captures the textural detail and matches the subtle coloration of the originals.
