Eastern Screech Owl
Otus asio
Eastern Screech Owl egg replica.
Eastern screech-owls build their nests in trees east of the Rockies. The female lays usually 3-4 eggs per clutch once a year. For a couple of months after they fledge, the young are still provided food by their parents. This species, formerly called Otus asio, is a small owl.
As with all Bone Clones® products, only the finest casting materials are used to cast our North American bird egg series. Our expert artists paint each with meticulous care to match the eggs that were used in the casting process. Each egg is hand painted with permanent dyes and sealed with a resistant coating that makes it ideal for handling, study, teaching, as well as for display.
Owl eggs are naturally white, but over time can appear darker in color due to their time in the nest. Our owl eggs are painted to match the original specimens as we received them, which is more tan in color. If you require your owl egg to be painted white to match a fresh egg, please let us know .
