Ligni Form Binder
This water-based acrylic polymer dispersion is ideal for fixing and consolidating earth, sand, pine needles, rotten wood, etc. LIGNI-FORM-BINDER is the optimal binder for all platform and diorama work due to its excellent film-image properties.
Material selection:
First it must be decided which type of hardening is desired:
LIGNI-FORM-BINDER
results in an elastic fixation. Small gaps and spaces are filled and consolidated by the excellent film-forming properties of the binder. LIGNI-FORM-BINDER is ideal for consolidating granulates such as sand, earth, pine needles. The choice of dilution affects the depth of penetration.
LIGNI-FORM-BINDER is diluted with water.
OSTEO-FIX
results in hardening of the internal structures of materials. OSTEO-FIX has very good penetration properties. OSTEO-FIX is less suitable for hardening sand etc.
OSTEO-FIX is dissolved with secondary spirit or with acetone.
Sometimes it is useful to harden certain objects with OSTEO-FIX before installing them in a pedestal or diorama. However, these objects must be completely dry before using LIGNI-FORM-BINDER.
Processing:
LIGNI-FORM-BINDER is diluted 1:1 to 1:2 with water in order to reduce the viscosity.
The material to be consolidated is brushed with the diluted LIGNI-FORM-BINDER or sprayed with a pump spray. Depending on the material to be consolidated, multiple applications may be necessary.
LIGNI-FORM-BINDER is also used to seal podium bases for later application of artificial snow "SNOWO-SYSTEM-Bauer".
