Dermestes Maculatus

Aqua-Gel

For supplying dermestes maculatus and other invertebrates with water.
In order for dermestes maculatus to reproduce well, they depend on a sufficient supply of water. In an open dish it is not possible to give water because the beetles and larvae drown in it. If water is sprayed directly into the terrarium, life-threatening moulds will develop for the breeding. If you use a sponge to administer water, the females will lay eggs in it.

Aqua-Gel is a granulate that swells in water within a few minutes to a solid gel, which the dermestes maculatus readily ingest. Beetles and larvae can walk over this gel without drowning or getting stuck. Eggs are not laid in this gel.

250 g granules yield approx. 50 litres of solid water. A dosing spoon is included for easy dosing. Too much Aqua-Gel can be frozen without any problems (tip: use ice cube trays).

Tip
Aqua-Gel is ideal for shipping delicate frost material: Freeze the material to be shipped in Aqua-Gel. This way you have a much larger "cold volume" and when it thaws no water can leak out of the package.

Aqua-Gel

Fish, frozen for shipment in Styrofoam box and Aqua-Gel (It is best to cover the top with Aqua-Gel as well, so the object is completely in a block of ice) For fast freezing through: Apply Aqua-Gel in several stages.
