For waterproof sealing of LIGNI-FORM, jute-gypsum laminates and gypsum.
Head moulds, manikins, etc. made of
LIGNI-FORM,
jute-gypsum laminates or plaster must absolutely be sealed waterproof with
DERMOCOLL before bonding the skin. Shellac is the only material suitable for such work. Shellac is also ideal for sealing plaster casts if they are to be painted with paint.
Processing:Soak the well-dried and dust-free model thoroughly with shellac using a brush and allow to dry well. Repeat this process 2 - 3 times until the mould is a rich orange-yellow colour. After thorough drying, the manicure is ready to be glued to the skin with DERMOCOLL.
Dissolve shellac flakes in ethanol:Shellac flakes are dissolved in ethanol in a weight ratio of 1: 5. This corresponds to: 1 kg shellac flakes to 5 kg ethanol
or
1 kg shellac flakes to 6.25 liters of ethanol
The dissolution requires some time. Dissolve shellac flakes in a sufficiently large vessel while constantly agitating with a stirrer (e.g. stirring propeller on drill). Move the batch until the shellac flakes are completely dissolved, so that no viscous sediment can form, which is almost impossible to dissolve.
