Bleaching agent for bones.
Bone bleaching with hydrogen peroxide:- liquor length: 1: 5 to 1: 10
- Excipients:
Tap water
Hydrogen peroxide 35%: 10 g/l or hydrogen peroxide 12%: 30 g/l
- SUPRALAN UF: 1-3 g/l = 0.1% to 0.3%
- Temperature: +20° to +35° C
- Reaction time: 12 hours
.
After maceration, the clean rinsed bones are transferred to the bleaching liquor without intermediate drying. Thanks to the addition of
SUPRALAN UF, there is not only excellent penetration of the bones, but also further degreasing of the material.
Once the bones have reached the desired degree of bleaching, they are removed from the liquor, rinsed well and dried slowly. It is important to note that the bones appear lighter after drying (due to the change in the refractive index after drying).
The amount of
SUPRALAN UF added to the liquor depends on the fat content of the bones to be bleached. Increasing the amount of hydrogen peroxide added does not lead to better bleaching, but only to higher substance consumption. Heavily discoloured bones must be treated over a longer period of time and the bleaching liquor may need to be changed several times.
ATTENTION: Hydrogen peroxide 35% is only for commercial use or for public institutes and museums (exception Switzerland!). Please send us a corresponding proof. A form about the intended use must be signed and returned, see download below.
