Ergo 5100 Activator (formerly Ultra-Coll Activator)
Accelerates the curing process of cyanoacrylate adhesives. Curing is promoted, especially on unfavorable surfaces.
The activator is usually applied on one side, at least 2 minutes before the adhesive and must evaporate completely before the parts are joined. It accelerates the curing of the cyanoacrylates and is always indicated when it is actually necessary to work in the seconds range. Inactive materials (e.g. metals) or large gaps prevent rapid curing. In addition, excess adhesive can be completely cured by subsequent spraying.
The use of the activator reduces the final strength of the adhesive used by about 20% compared to the ideal values.
Tip: Use Starbond Glue and Ergo 5100 Activator for mounting skulls and skeletons. Larger areas can be glued with regular "white glue" (UV resistant, no discoloration). Used selectively, Starbond Glue and Ergo 5100 Activator provide immediate fixation of the parts to be mounted.
