LIGNI-FORM is a high-quality casting and filling compound on a mineral basis, available in three different product types, processable with LIGNI-FORM-BINDER or with water only. These materials have been specially developed for preparatory purposes.

Application examples for LIGNI-FORM:

• Free modeling of animal forms (for larger animals carve core from AIREX or wrap from wood wool)
  
• Attaching AURI-FORM-ears to head moulds and modelling the base of the ears
  
• Casting smaller animal bodies or heads in silicone moulds
  
• Making positives from existing (silicone) negative moulds of large animal bodies or head moulds: Mixing techniques with jute-gypsum laminate (neck area) and LIGNI-FORM (facial details such as mouth area and eyes)
  
• Modifying commercial molds
  
• Inserting glass eyes
  
• Platform construction

• LIGNI-FORM is an ideal substrate for subsequent bonding of the skin with DERMOCOLL (prime with Shellac beforehand!)
  
• LIGNI-FORM can be further processed without problems after curing (sanding, rasping, filing, drilling, etc.)
  
• The product properties differ when using LIGNI-FORM-BINDER or water. (The binder produces tough elastic properties and also a longer pot life, whereas the use of water produces a harder and more brittle end product, shorter pot life, but also shorter drying time.)

Type description:

• LIGNI-FORM No. 1: for finer work, maximum grain size 1.0 mm
  
• LIGNI-FORM No. 2: for work on larger objects,maximum grain size 2.5 mm
  
• LIGNI-FORM No. 3: for postament work, maximum grain size 3.5 mm

Processing:
Place a small amount of LIGNI-FORM in a mixing cup and add binder while stirring constantly (never sprinkle the LIGNI-FORM into the binder!) until the desired consistency is reached. Never mix LIGNI-FORM too liquid (only viscous)! If LIGNI-FORM is applied to an absorbent surface, it must either be sealed first (e.g. with shellac) or moistened well with water or LIGNI-FORM-BINDER. The mixed LIGNI-FORM is now applied to the desired area with a spatula or spatulaed or poured into the silicone negative mould provided. Tools can be cleaned with water without any problems. After LIGNI-FORM has hardened, the object is allowed to dry thoroughly and the surface is then sealed with shellac. The mould is now ready to be covered and glued to the skin with DERMOCOLL.
