Zoology: Bones (Fossil / Prehistoric)

Thoosuchus

Thoosuchus
Thoosuchus Skull.
Thoosuchus were semi-aquatic batrachomorphs that lived worldwide over 200 million years ago. Similar in appearance to salamanders, thoosuchus are the most likely ancestors of the modern day tail-less amphibians we call frogs. Some had well-developed gills, while some possessed primitive lungs. Their numerous sharp teeth and large palatal fangs indicate they were active predators.
