Man: Skulls

This skull contains 12 teeth in both the upper and lower jaws. All of the fully erupted teeth are deciduous. The anterior and posterior intra-occipital sutures are not fused. The anterior fontanelle is open. The posterior fontanelle, the sphenoidal fontanelle and the mastoidal fontanelle are all closed. Age assessment would be enhanced with radiographs and CT scans, but the evaluation of the skull alone places the age at 15 to 16 months. It is not currently possible to reliably determine sex or major racial group with child remains. 2-part skull (separate cranium & jaw).
