Platecarpus planifrons
Mosasaur Platecarpus planifrons Skull and Neck
Through special arrangement with Triebold Paleontology, Inc., Bone Clones® is pleased to offer Platecarpus planifrons, a medium-sized mosasaur that lived approximately 86 MYA, during the late Cretaceous Period. One of only a few known, this specimen is the best in existence. Complete with pterygoid teeth, it also features shark scavenging marks on the dorsal margin of the left surangular (part of jaw bone). Once a P. planifrons captured its prey in its mouth, the additional set of teeth located in the upper palate helped ensure it stayed there. 1-part skull (jaw glued to cranium).
