Scarlet Ibis

Eudocimus ruber
Scarlet Ibis Skull
The scarlet ibis occurs in South America and on islands in the Caribbean. Like all ibises, they are wading birds with long legs and a long, curved bill. Completely scarlet except for black wing tips, they derive their color from the carotenes in the shells of the small crustaceans they eat. They forage in large flocks and build their stick nests in marshes and mangrove swamps. 1-part skull (jaw glued to cranium).
