Man: Skulls

Human Female American Indian Skull

Homo sapiens
Human Female American Indian Skull
his skull is typical of a southwestern American Indian. It has broad, flattened, forward-projecting zygomas. The facial bones are vertically aligned with a shallow nasal depression, a moderate nasal spine, an orthognathic jaw, and a vertical chin. The cranium is rounded (not high or long), with bulbous parietals and a complicated lambdoid suture. The palate is wide and smoothly curved, supporting an elliptical dental row. Both metric and non-metric analyses show this skull to be a good example of mixed sexual traits and ambiguous sexual designation. 2-part skull (separate cranium & jaw).
