Slow Loris Skull

Nycticebus coucang
Slow Loris Skull
The slow Loris is found in tropical forests in Southeast Asia. This round-faced prosimian with big, fixed eyes is 10-15 inches long and weighs 1-3.3 pounds. Its thumb and big toe are at right angles to the other digits and are used to grip tightly to branches. This solitary creature is able to use its strong grip to hang onto branches while it sleeps during the day. Coming out to hunt at night, it moves deliberately and slowly along branches before striking out to capture its prey of insects. It also feeds on fruit and bird eggs. The slow loris produces a toxin that it mixes with its saliva, which it then delivers with a bite when threatened or uses to provide its young with a protective coat. 2-part skull (separate cranium & jaw). 2 ½" L x 1 ½" W x 1 ½" H 5.8L x 4W x 3.5H (cm)

Oval display base is available on demand.
