Gray Fox Claw

Urocyon cinereoargenteus
Gray Fox Claw
The gray fox is nicknamed "the tree fox" due to its ability to climb trees and leap from branch to branch with catlike agility. It can be found from Northern Ontario, Canada, to Central and Southwestern U.S. to Venezuela. The coat of the gray fox is made up of individual hairs banded with black, gray and white, creating the animal's mottled gray coloration. It also has a small mane and a dark stripe down its back. The skull is unique when compared to other North American canids, due to its wide U-shaped temporal ridges. Please see our Gray Fox skull, BC-144. This animal is protected in the State of Florida and cannot be trapped or destroyed without a permit.
