Zoology: Bones (Fossil / Prehistoric)

Smilodon populator, found in eastern South America, was the largest of the three species of Smilodon. Although more robust than Homotherium, it may have been a greater leaper. Our sabertooth cat's (S. populator) sabers measure 12 inches. The canines are from the skull, BC-103. We are grateful to the Babiarz Institute of Paleontological Studies for the opportunity to cast the skull. The sabers are available individually or as a pair.
