American alligators are found in freshwater regions of the southeastern United States, primarily in Louisiana and Florida. The male may grow up to 14 feet while the female reaches up to 10. Its lower teeth fit into sockets in the upper jaw and remain completely hidden when their mouth is closed, while both the upper and lower teeth of a crocodile are visible at all times. The alligator's jaws, which contain 70-80 sharp conical teeth in their rounded snout, are a bit stronger than the crocodile's.
