Chimpanzee Foot, Disarticulated
Disarticulated foot from Chimpanzee Skeleton SC-003.
The hand of the chimpanzee possesses four long fingers and a shorter opposable thumb. Manipulations requiring precision are usually accomplished with the interaction of the thumb and middle finger, rather than the index finger. The foot of the chimpanzee has an opposable big toe, which allows it to grip with both its hands and feet.
