Human Fetal 8 Months Set of 8 Postcranial
Until one year of age, the tibia and the humerus are of similar lengths; after this age, the tibia is longer than the humerus. The proximal epiphysis of the tibia starts to ossify near the end of the third trimester. Its identification can be used to age a fetal skeleton. In addition to the humerus and tibia, this set also includes the right and left mandibles, a scapula, rib, ilium and femur. Cast from real bones, these 8 postcranial skeletal elements are excellent representations of human osteology at this stage of late fetal development.
