Vervet Monkey Skeleton, articulated

Cercopithecus tantalus
Vervet Monkey Skeleton, Articulated
One can identify the vervet monkey (Cercopithecus pygerythrus) by the green coloring of parts of its face, such coloring caused by black and yellow hair matting together. Having a preference for open areas, it lives in the woodlands and savannahs of Africa, where it mainly feeds on fruit, although occasionally it will eat bird eggs, insects and small mammals. They are highly sociable and will travel in small groups with multiple males. Their nervous and reproduction systems are similar to those of humans, making them desirable research subjects.

All individual postcranial bones are also available, See the SC-069 Group Page.
