Saltwater Crocodile- 6 1/2 inches long

Crocodylus porosus
6 1/2" Saltwater Crocodile Skull
The saltwater crocodile, the largest living reptile, can live in salt water as well as fresh water. Its kidneys and tongue are instrumental in dispelling salt. Its quest to capture prey is aided by the placement of its eyes and nose high on its head. Because of this high placement, the Crocodile can remain almost hidden in the water before an attack. Crocodiles possess both tremendous strength and speed, being able to come out of the water, grab and drag their prey (for example, a water buffalo) back to the water, before tearing it apart with their powerful jaws. Saltwater crocodiles are found throughout Southeast Asia and Northern Australia and have longevity of at least 70 years. See the skull of our much larger specimen BC-229, which is almost 5 times as big but remarkably similar otherwise. 2-part skull (jaw connected with removable hardware).

Oval display base is available on demand.
