Front teeth of the beaver. Show the impressive length of the beaver's teeth! Only a small part is visible in the skull, the largest part is hidden in the jaws. Also included is one molar tooth each.
The front side of the teeth is additionally reinforced with iron and iron compounds, in addition to calcium, magnesium and other ionic compounds, which is why the teeth are often orange-red in color from the front. The back side of the teeth lacks these iron compounds, making the front side of the teeth much harder and less likely to wear down as quickly as the back side of the teeth. This leads to a natural self-sharpening effect when gnawing on wood.
