Human Adult Female Pelvis and Femur
The human adult female pelvis and femur are of exceptional quality. The three bones of the innominate are usually fused by puberty (between the ages of 12 and 17). The sciatic notch widens at puberty in the female, while it remains narrow in the male. The size and shape of the components of this pelvis illustrate typical features of a female. In the absence of a pelvis, the femur may be used to estimate sex, with the assumption being that males are larger than females. Please compare to our Human Adult Male Pelvis and Femur SC-092-PF.
